Career development opportunities within doctoral training programs have not kept pace with the dynamic shifts in the career paths of their graduates. Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields represent a pool of talent in need of opportunities to gain transferable skills. Evidence-based teaching (EBT) may be an attractive pathway to gain skills that are transferable and applicable to students interested in both traditional and non-traditional scientific careers. One way to address the need for transferable skills in the graduate student and postdoctoral population while also improving STEM education and outreach is to use this as an opportunity to create educational resources, essentially turning the talents of one group (graduate students) into resources for the other (undergraduates). This presentation describes the pilot study of “Annotator Professional Development,” an interactive professional development opportunity designed to introduce graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and interested STEM professionals to the basic principles of EBT while participating in education and outreach by partnering with the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) to produce educational resources for the STEM community.<br/>
