This talk will start a panel discussion on innovation, prospecting and in-situ resource utilization insights at leading companies in multiple sectors determined to play a role in human expansion across the solar system. NASA invests in critical technology areas including power and energy storage, nanotechnology, materials and structures, and thermal protection systems. Chemistry plays a large role in many of these investments, including: lightweight metal-matrix composites, high-efficiency radiation hard solar cells, supercapacitors, and nanotube arrays for biochemical sensing. Life science products and devices will be increasingly important as we travel to detect life on other planets and myriad solar system bodies. Commercial and international partners are essential to NASA’s ambitious future plans to create a sustainable space program of human and robotic exploration. Learn throughout the day how you or your organization could become part of humanity's next giant leap.
