From indigenous forest-dwelling communities to small island developing states and low-lying coastal countries, those most vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change have been left out of the negotiations. Forest dwellers decry the United Nations Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+) as a ‘false’ solution. Pacific Climate Warriors demand “Keep It In The Ground!” as the relentless transfer of carbon from coal to the atmosphere creates a clear and present danger for their homelands being swallowed by rising tides. Youth, who will inherit the planet of their elders, plead for a place at the negotiating table and a vote on the climate agreements that will define their future. Inhabitants of the circumpolar Arctic lament the loss of their social and economic culture as sea ice melts away. This presentation sheds light on the voices of the disenfranchised and their demand for climate justice.
