Bone graft is one of the procedure which is used to heal the bone fracture in limited time. In this, the portion of bone tissue removed from one site and placed at another, either in same or in another individual in order to repair a defect caused by operation, accident or disease. The grafts are also use to help to heal the bone around implanted devices like pins, screws, plates etc. In this paper, poly lactic acid (biodegradable synthetic polymer) and Hydroxyapatite (bioactive bio ceramic) has been successfully blended through twin screw extruder cum injection molding machine in order to prepare a biofilm. The intention behind developing this biofilm is to support the bone while<br/>the bone heals after bone grafting procedures. The hydroxyapatite used in this biofilm was fabricated through fish scale biowastes. The extruded composite biofilm was characterized through various techniques like phase content and composition through XRD and EDX. The surface morphologies were captured through FESEM. Surface wettability were studied through contact angle measurement system to provide the knowledge about hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity. Bioactivity were evaluated through simulated body fluid in Invitro conditions. Thermal behaviour were studied through DSC/TGA. The result obtained were found positive and it was concluded that Polylactic acid/Hydroxyapatite composite biofilm had great perspective towards applications in fixing the bone tissue during bone graft harvest sites.
