Synthesis of aryl amines has been widely pursued in the past few decades due to their presence in many biologically important molecules. The three common ways to form a aryl C-N bond are: 1. Nitration followed by reduction, 2. Ullmann-Goldberg coupling, and 3. Buchwald-Hartwig amination. These methods suffer from either regioselectivity or requirement of pre-activated substrates like halo-arenes. Whereas, transition metal catalyzed directed C-H amination method can bypass the requirement of pre-activated substrates. Also, regioselective C-H bond amination can be achieved via such C-H bond functionalizations. Herein, we report a transition-metal catalyzed chelation-assisted decarboxylative C-H bond amination. The presentation will include screening of transition-metal catalyst, solvents, additives, and temperature. Mechanism of this catalytic system will also be discussed.
