A project in an inorganic chemistry lab involves the synthesis of various metal-acetonylacetate complexes using different synthetic methods.  The students conduct RAMP analyses of various reagents and procedures along with the choice of green metric to review potential environmental impacts.  Student must weigh both considerations in selecting an “optimum” synthesis. <br/>
