Cu-dependent metalloenzymes carry out important metabolic transformations, including the hydroxylation of very challenging substrates such methane. In this presentation, we will describe our recent findings in Cu-directed hydroxylation of sp2 and sp3 C-H bonds including our mechanistic findings (which might lead to a better understading of the Cu monooxygenases enzymology) and some relevant synthetic organic applications.
