The POGIL Project is non-profit organization that brings together educators who wish to transform education. The work of The Project focuses on dissemination of a student-centered pedagogy through faculty workshops and the development of curricular materials. As The POGIL Project transitioned from a grant-funded network of educators into a non-profit organization, the formation of a strategic plan became an important task for the leadership and members of t\The Project. In 2013, the guiding priorities for The Project were established and among them was a strategic goal focused on increasing diversity and inclusion within the organization and the students served by POGIL pedagogy. How does an organization of primarily white chemistry educators face their own privilege and work toward diversity and inclusivity? The steps taken to provide professional development for The POGIL Project membership focused on issues of power, privilege, and social justice will be presented. An outcome of The Project's priority to address diversity and inclusivity is a POGIL workshop, "Inclusive Exellence in the POGIL Classroom." The development and implementation of this workshop that addresses issues of implicit bias arising when students work in self-managed teams during class will also be discussed.
