Our group previously reported the reactivity and kinetic/mechanistic study of 1-hexene polymerization based on Zr,Hf –amine bis(phenolate) catalysts, M[tBu-ONXO]Bn2 (where X= THF, pyridine, NMe2, furan, SMe). Recently, we discovered these catalysts are very active for co-copolymerization of ethylene and 1-hexene, yielding high 1-hexene-incorporated co-copolymers (Mn = 10,000 – 40,000). The incorporations of each monomer were quantified by 13C NMR. The effect of monomer ratio, metal, and the ligand on molecular weight and composition of co-polymer was studied. Varying the reaction time led to different incorporation ratio. The reactions were also monitored by in-situ situ 1H NMR to obtain kinetic data, which are used to develop kinetic modeling
