Utilization of carbonized materials derived from metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) is less well explored than the use of MOFs in catalytic organic transformations. Herein, we survey the oxidative performance of heterogenous catalyst materials derived from polycrystalline iron–organic framework TAL-1. Besides, bifunctional/multifunctional applications in various transformations (coupling, organometallic etc.) are explored.
