Hydroboration reactions are frequently applied to produce key synthetic organoboron intermediates which can be used to access a broad library of chemical structures.  Current methods for the hydroboration of organic compounds typically involve the use of metal reagents which can be toxic, harmful to the environment, and expensive.  We are using a carbodiphosphorane catalyst in hydroboration reactions, which is non-toxic, inexpensive, and earth abundant.  Additionally, the central carbon is metallic in nature due to its high electron density, making it a strong nucleophile which can easily initiate the catalytic cycle.  The nucleophilicity of the carbodiphosphorane catalyst makes it a viable green alternative to metal catalysts.  The hydroboration of carbodiimides and mechanistic details of reactions involving our carbodiphosphorane catalyst will be discussed.  To the best of our knowledge, this is the first example of catalysis by a carbodiphosphorane.  <br/>
