Complex biological tissues are highly elastic in nature, and efforts to repair or replace cartilage, tendon, muscle, and vasculature have been ongoing for decades. The primary challenge has been the lack of materials that possess the mechanical, chemical and resorption characteristics necessary for the design process. These properties have been difficult to collectively mimic in synthetic resorbable biomaterials. In this work, we report a series of copolymer systems that utilize topology, architecture and stoichiometry to control polymer degradation <i>in vitro and in vivo</i>. These materials are highly tunable and in some cases elastic with concomitant control over the mechanical and resorption properties. Herein, we will demonstrate both the programmable degradation and tunable mechanical properties of these elastomers highlighting their potential for use in soft tissue regeneration.
