There are countless processes that rely on mass transfer between solid particulates and neighboring liquid. For example, electrocatalysis and water filtration are commonly limited by mass transport at the liquid-solid interface. This talk details our recent work on developing a model that describes this interface, accounting for the variables of liquid temperature, pressure, particle size, while including some form of pertinent kinetic data to describe mass transfer to/from the liquid. We then demonstrate the utility of this model by comparing to a large scale experimental study and show that mass transfer is predicted, even in non-equilibrium conditions.
