Since 2010, we have been leading a transformative education drive at the American University of Beirut (AUB), Lebanon with more initiatives mushrooming every year. In this talk, we will outline some of these initiatives, particularly the International Organic Chemistry Competition (OC), the Medical Competition (MC), the Medical Research Volunteer Program (MRVP), the ChemCarnival, the mentoring seminars by well-renowned individuals, and the research talks by Ig Nobel prize winners. We describe this platform that revolves entirely around students and their learning needs and objectives. This pedagogical approach is a continuous generator of opportunities for students, who are constantly in the spotlight. Every student is distinguished. This transformative education drive provides students the platform to shine and think outside the box. It recognizes students’ needs, passion, dedication, talents and originality.
