Wearable health monitoring systems have made a significant progress in personalized healthcare with the advancement of soft materials, miniaturized electronics, and non-invasive biofluid sensing. However, current wearable systems solely focus on either biochemical or physiological sensing, thus they do not provide simultaneous measurement of human physiology and biochemistry. There is still a need for flexible wearable sensors with miniaturized electronics for continuous monitoring of human metabolism (<i>i.e., </i>lactate, glucose, and oxygen). Herein, we present our initial efforts toward the development of a wearable multimodal patch for continuous and simultaneous measurement of sweat metabolites and tissue oxygenation. The system includes a flexible electrochemical and optical sensing patch along with its signal transduction and conditioning circuity. This wearable platform enables a comprehensive approach for human physiology, biochemistry and physical performance monitoring.
