The National Organization of Gay and Lesbian Scientists and Technical Professionals (NOGLSTP) is an ACS Diversity Partner and the Division of Professional Relations’ (PROF) Gay & Transgender Chemists and Allies (GTCA) subdivision coordinates with NOGLSTP’s LGBT Chemists and Allies Caucus in many activities within the society including this year’s <i>Out to Innovate™</i>career summit held at the University of Southern California (USC) March 16-17.  The summit brought together 250 LGBTQ+ students, faculty, and professionals from across the U.S. for two days of workshops, plenary speakers, a technical poster contest, a sponsor exposition, and an awards ceremony.  ACS PROF and GTCA member Prof. Benny Chan was recognized with the NOGLSTP 2019 Educator of the Year award.  This year’s poster contest winner was Yekaterina Chmykh of Portland State University who will be the guest of the Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Board in San Diego for the ACS National Meeting.  The division was represented by several members of the NOGLSTP’s Board of Directors, who had major speaking roles, organized a workshop on being “Out in Academia”, and gave a flash presentation on mercury during summit.
