The long-term thermal oxidative deposition of aviation kerosene is of great significance for the design and applications of the fuel-cooled thermal management of advanced aircrafts. In this paper, the long-term (100 h) thermal oxidative deposition of RP-3 aviation kerosene was carried out in the electric heating tube to understand the variation of deposition reaction in long-term process. Generally, there were three typical stages of deposition rate change: the initial stage when deposition rate decreased from 28.29 to 2.41mg/h, the accumulation stage when deposition rate increased from 2.41 to 6.285 mg/h, and the aging stage when deposition rate gradually slowed down and finally decreased. The metal surface was covered rapidly by thermal deposition in the initial stage leading to the decrease of deposition rate. In the accumulation stage, the active functional groups increased with the deposition, which promoted the deposition reaction, and then the shedding of active functional groups in aging stage inhibited the reaction. A modified global surface reaction kinetics based on the above changes were proposed to describe the long-term thermal oxidative deposition of jet fuel, which well predicted the 100 h deposition from thermal oxidation of jet fuel.
