There are many formaldehyde based finishes present which are used as Durable press (DP) finish on cotton to overcome its wrinkling property but release of formaldehyde content, results in loss in strength and yellowing of textile which makes it undesirable. Non-Formaldehyde based finish can overcome the disadvantage of formaldehyde release but those finishes are expensive. There are many hospital articles that require wrinkle recovery and need to be finished with some antimicrobial agent, like Nano silver that has been commonly used. In our work, anionic cotton was treated with the cationized glycerin, and this ionic crosslinked cotton fabric was further treated with Nano silver along with a binder and its effect on WRA property of the ionic crosslinked cotton fabric was studied. It was concluded that use of Nano silver along with a binder not only decreases the WRA but also increase tensile strength and whiteness of the fabric.
