In this talk, I will overview the work of my research group over the last year or so on the development and improvement of quantum algorithms for the simulation of molecules and materials. I will devote some time to new advances in the VQE framework and its implementation in the Tequila package. I will describe the quantum computer-aided design application as well as the concept of the meta variational quantum eigensolver. I may be ready to disclose/talk about an application in the space of materials design.
