Molecular thermoelectrics allows one to examine mechanism of charge movements across individual molecules and draw inferences on atomic-detailed structure-thermopower relationhips. This presentation describes thermoelectric properties of large-area molecular junctions with the structure, MetTS-SAM//Ga2O3/EGaIn where MetTS is a template-stripped ultraflat metal substrate, SAM is a self-assembled monolayer, and Ga2O3/EGaIn is an electrically conductive fluid metal composed of eutectic Ga-In alloy covered with a self-passivating oxide layer. Using the junction, we investigate how thermopower is affected by the chemical structures of backbone (aryl vs. alkyl) and anchor (traditional thiol vs. others), and the identity of bottom electrode. We further discuss our experimentall results with the transmission function-based toy model proposed by Paulsson and Datta.
