Polyetheramine (PEA) is a crucial intermediate used for epoxy resin and polyurea. It also can be used to provide a hydrophilic property with maleated polypropylene by adding ethylene oxide (EO) as a repeating unit to PEA’s backbone. Polyalkylene glycols (PAGs) with different end-capping groups were utilized for amination to produce polyetheramine (PEA) on cobalt based catalysts. This work presents that the activity toward PEA and selectivity toward primary amine can be affected by the terminal end groups in PAGs.
