According to the learning theories, students are learning by being engaged rather than passive learning. In this time of global pandemic and teaching in ZOOM, keeping the students engaged has been paramount. Biochemistry is one of the requirements in allied-health and pre-health majors. Herein we provide examples on a conceptual approach and activities related to learning/reviewing metabolic pathways for non-chemistry majors. We designed several activities by incorporating some chemistry humor. The approach to teaching metabolism, the materials, and the implication for teaching will be discussed.
