Background
To investigate the application value on diagnosis of Cryptogenic ischemic Stroke patients combined with PFO by cTTE under Valsalva test.
Method(s)
A total of 320 CS patients who have diagnosised of PFO by TTE combined with cTTE and cTCD.They are all checked under both resting state and valsalva Maneuver state.Check the wide and shape of PFO by TEE.Comparing different detection methods to PFO detection rate and comparison and analysis of the detection rate and morphological difference of PFO.
Result(s)
The PFO was visualized by TTE in the 85 of 440 patients while it was by cTEE in the 152 of 440 patients.The Valsalva maneuver is helpful when we check PFO by cTEE.The prevalence of PFO was significant higher in patients with CS than in control subjects (120/320,38% versus 30/120,25%,P<0.05).There were 22 cases (18%) of patients with PFO in the CS group and 2 patients (6%) of patients with atrial septal tumor (6%), and the difference was statistically significant.
Conclusion(s)
The detection rate of PFO-RLS by cTTE is higher than by TTE,especially supplemented by a Valsalva maneuver. For CS patients with PFO, the probability of a combined atrial septal tumor was higher than that in the control group.
