The centrifugal compressor with rotational speed 60000r/min was designed according to 150kW class supercritical carbon dioxide (SCO~2~) simple Brayton cycle. The physical property tables of SCO~2~ significantly impacts on the stability and accuracy of SCO~2~ compressor aerodynamic performance predictions due to the dramatic variation of the physical properties of SCO~2~ near the critical point. 400×400 precision physical property table can be able to reliable SCO~2~ compressor aerodynamic performance based on the experimental measurements. The designed and off-designed conditions aerodynamic performance of the designed SCO~2~ centrifugal compressor was numerically investigated using the three-dimensional Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) and k-e turbulence model. The centrifugal impeller tip leakage flow was also analyzed in details. The numerical results show that the aerodynamic efficiency of the designed SCO~2~ centrifugal compressor obtains 73.2% and pressure ratio equals 2.207 at the designed condition with consideration of the impeller tip leakage flow loss. The good off-designed conditions performance of the SCO~2~ centrifugal compressor was obtained. The aerodynamic efficiency of the SCO~2~ centrifugal compressor with consideration of the impeller tip leakage flow loss decreases up to 14.0% by comparison of the without impeller tip leakage flow effect. The separation flow region along the mainstream flow direction, the backflow region of the upper part in the tip clearance under the effect of the adverse pressure gradient, the flow region along the mainstream direction of the lower part in the tip clearance three regions of the impeller tip leakage flow field was illustrated. The obtained results show that the designed centrifugal compressor meets the requirement of the aerodynamic performance for the 150kW class simple Brayton cycle.
