Extremely high brightness and non-blinking nature of perovskite nanocrystals are of great demand for various applications. By Zn alloying1-2 and modifying the coordinating ligands near unity PLQY has been achieved in CsPbI3 perovskite nanocrystal (PNC). This particular PNC possess a very high molar extinction coefficient (ε) of ~ 108 M-1cm-1 at 400 nm. Thus this PNC exhibit super bright photoluminescence. Ultrasensitive single particle spectroscopic investigation on this PNC at our home built setup yielded the ON fraction distribution peak at 90%. Thus, this particular PNC is a super-bright and nearly non-blinking in nature. Additionaly, this particular PNC exhibited quite interesting optical behaviour at the single particle level such as (i) relatively smaller value of mON (in comparison to mOFF) indicating longer ON event durations are interrupted by shorter OFF event durations,3-7 (ii) electron detrapping rate has been measured to be three-four times higher than the trapping rate, (iii) hole trapping time has been found to be more than twenty times higher than the hole detrapping time. All these excellent optical properties signify much superior optical properties of these PNC in comparison to any quantum dot or nanomaterial known so far.
