This paper reports mitigation of connected cabinets and the electronics inside subjected to seismic inputs by using the elasto-plastic dampers which is installed between cabinets. 
In many plants such as power plants and chemical plants and so on, several rectangular cabinets, which contain electronics inside, are set on the floor in the buildings directly. 
These electronics inside are very important to control the behavior of the total plant. 
When the earthquake occurs, the cabinets and inside electronics turn over by rocking motion and may be damaged or destroyed. 
Even if the cabinets do not turn over, there is a concern that large accelerations are applied to the internal electronics due to the seismic wave. 
As a result, the entire plant cannot be controlled and a serious accident may occur. 
Therefore, it is needed to develop methods that can reduce rocking motion and prevent the internal electronics damage simultaneously. 
In some cases, the cabinets cannot be connected to the wall or floor for some reasons. 
Even in this case, connecting the adjacent cabinets by elasto-plastic damper, which is one of the nonlinear damper, the vibrations of the cabinets and electronics can be mitigated. 
We consider the behavior of the adjacent cabinets with the electronics connecting by two elasto-plastic dampers. 
The cabinets are modelled by the rigid bodies rotating around their corners. 
The internal electronics are modelled as rigid bodies moving in the translational direction in the cabinets. 
The elasto-plastic damper has bilinear hysteretic characteristics and can be absorb the energy of the earthquake inputs. 
When the seismic wave is input to the connecting cabinets storing the electronics, the rocking behaviors of the cabinets and accelerations of electronics are investigated. 
Effect of the elasto-plastic damper on the mitigation of the rocking motions of the cabinets and the accelerations of the electronics are investigated. 
Especially, the attaching positions of the elasto-plastic dampers are important parameters to reduce the vibrations of the cabinets and the electronics. 
The effect of the attaching position of the elasto-plastic damper are discussed.
