Properties of the emulsified fuels are determined by the active character of molecules from the active surface, such as low molecular weight fatty acids, asphaltenes, and naphtenic acids. All these molecules can interact with surfaces of other oils or water from the liquid mixtures or with solid surfaces in mechanical systems or pipes walls in the case of long distance transport. For heavy oils which contain large amounts of asphaltene these effects are very important.The characteristics of the emulsified fuels are determined mainly by the properties and nature of the emulsifier.In the first part of the present paper was tested heavy fuels' emulsification with monoglycerides and cosurfactants with an important contribution in clean fuels combustion. This proposed solution is preferred because has small cost. A second tested solution consists in testing nonionic polymer obtained from the conversion of solid wastes of PET (polyetylene terephtalate) waste and glycol. The main advantages of this raw material are the PET low cost and its large availability. The PET has high content of oxygen so the combustion of emulsified fuels with this type of surfactants leads on quite low pollution emission.Next, the preparation of nonionic polymer associated with the glicerol recovery as additives for emulsified fuels is presented. In the first stage, the PET transesterification with glycol at 2000C – 2100C with ethylene glycol elimination was accomplished.For testing ten samples of emulsified fuels were prepared using different emulsifying agents and tested the influence of these emulsifiers on the fuels characteristics.Some physical properties of the emulsified fuels were determined also, as density at 200C viscosity at 900C, flash point, freeze point, etc.It was observed that if the emulsifier proportion or the include water quantity increase in the emulsified fuel the flash point increases also. Other experiments were realized referring at the freezing point, the viscosity values at different temperatures, etc. A proper report between the emulsifier proportion and the emulsified fuel properties was established.Finally, some conclusions and references are mentioned also.
