<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-left: 36.0pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 150%">Fatigue is generally considered the most critical failure mode in mechanical and structural systems. Due to high-stress concentrations, welded joints represent the most common locations of fatigue crack initiation in steel structures that are prone to fatigue. &nbsp;In India, especially in western offshore, there are about 300 platforms, and 50% of them have reached their design life but still operating due to existing oil and gas reserves. Fatigue prediction in offshore structures is an extraordinarily complicated process involving many factors such as complicated geometry, stress patterns, and loading condition. The fatigue-based probabilistic approach for existing fixed offshore structures using the application of reliability-based procedure such as First Order Reliability Method (FORM) and finding the probability of failure for different platforms using the Monte-Carlo simulation technique. In order to perform the existing fixed offshore structures without affecting the operational limits and extended for a further period, the simplified probabilistic method used as the basis of fatigue screening technique using Long term distribution of stress range in Weibull distribution. The methodology uses linear damage accumulation model of Palmgren-Miner, a probabilistic S-N curve, and an approach for a one-to-one transformation of the probability density functions to achieve the objective. The quantitative method involves a probabilistic fatigue method to define inspection plans for selected tubular joints subjected to fatigue and the failures of which are critical for the overall platform structure.</p>
