The effect of gender on post examination confidence in all levels of college chemistry courses was investigated.  This included those for non-science majors, health science majors (including nursing), and traditional chemistry courses for chemistry and biology majors.  Examples of the Dunning-Kruger effect have been identified extensively in previous studies in chemistry.  Its effects as they relate to gender based on post examination surveys collected at two universities are explored here.
