First experiences with SPINCARE™: Use of synthetic nanofibre epidermal substitute dressing in the treatment of burn injury at Prague Burn Centre.
Objectives: The use of nanofiber material in medicine has attracted much interest in the past decade, and not only in the field of wound healing. In this poster, we will present and summarise our experiences with the use of a synthetic epidermal cover bed-side created via an electrospinning method, SPINCARE™, and its use in our operating theatres.
Methods: The SPINCARE™ device was used on 10 patients with superficial burns at the  Prague Burn Centre, and the process of healing was evaluated during healing.
Results: The results show that the application of nanomaterial dressings on wounds allows for thorough covering in anatomically problematic areas, while creating an elastic covering of the superficial wounds which in turn does not limit the patient in their daily activities. Further, the application of this covering allows for adhesion up to the point of complete healing without the necessity of redressing, in turn decreasing OR visits, the necessity for general anaesthesia, and the prolonged use of analgesics, decrease the of length of stay and cost of the treatment.
Conclusions: These results are to be expected of a modern wound covering and show the promised results in different indications, specifically in the context of thermal trauma in paediatric patients with superficial burn injuries.

We will be pleased to welcome you in Turin (Italy) for the 19th European Burns Association´s Congress in 2022. Italy is honored to hold the meeting of the European Burns Association for the second time, after Verona in 1995. Turin is easily reachable from everywhere in Europe, either travelling by car, train or choosing flight connections. During the meeting, held in the renewed industrial center of the main Italian historical automotive factory (i.e. Lingotto-FIAT), we will meet international burn specialists, focusing on standards of care, progresses in burn treatment, strategies to face disaster situations, with a special attention to education of younger colleagues. However, in your spare time, you might enjoy the sweet days of Italian late summer, simply wandering in the green parks and gardens along the two rivers which cross the city, or you might decide to discover the numerous art galleries, churches, palaces, libraries, walking across elegant squares and large boulevards, passing through centuries of art and history; finally, you may choose to immerse yourself in some of the most exciting museum experiences, such as the Cinema Museum and the Turin’s Egyptian museum.
