Experimental teaching laboratories operate through procedures that keep teachers and students safe when performing laboratory work. These procedures, which include safety regulations, emergency protocols, risk pictograms, CRETIB codes, evacuation routes and signage, make students learn how to perform good laboratory practices and replicate them when they enter the work field.<br/>Consulting the information to know the protocols and/or regulations requires investing a lot of time, because the information is found in different websites, which, in addition, requires reviewing different sections until finding the information of interest to the student. Another problem that can occur would be in the event of an incident occurring during working hours in the laboratory, making it difficult for students and teachers to consult the emergency protocols in real time, because they cannot find the necessary information, either because they do not know where to look, or because of the nervousness of being in an emergency situation.<br/>The handbook consists of eight sections, general laboratory regulations, technical regulations for each laboratory, personal protective equipment, risk pictograms, CRETIB codes, safety data sheets, compatibility tables and evaluation test.<br/>Two forms were prepared for the collection of statistical data. The first questionnaire will be a survey for students and teachers regarding their knowledge of safety in laboratory work. A sample of 150 participants was obtained, of which 145 correspond to students from the first year to the last year of undergraduate studies, as well as 5 professors who teach the subjects of general chemistry, analytical chemistry, physicochemistry and organic chemistry. The first data reveal that students and teachers agree that there should be visual material to learn about safety in the laboratory. The second one will be applied at the end of the course.
