Acholetin is a recently identified glycan in a family of β-linked glucosamine (GlcNAc) homopolysaccharides that include chitin (β-1,4) and PNAG (poly-β-1,6-<i>N</i>-acetylglucosamine). In order to develop potential applications for this structure, we herein report efforts toward automated continuous flow methods to produce the glucosamine building blocks and glycosylation reactions to synthesize the (β-1,3)-linkages of acholetin.
