It can be about publishers, it can be about publishing, but ultimately it is about making sure that thoroughly research outcomes effectively reach those who rely on them: researchers, policymakers, industry professionals and practitioners. The means used to achieve this goal are continually evolving, with the rate of change consistently increasing. Does the future of scholarly communication lie in the foundations of our past, in the dynamics of our present, or within uncharted territories?
