This work presents methods for troubleshooting common flange isolation failures and the benefits of implementing remote asset integrity monitoring systems. Experimental testing techniques like RF measurements are demonstrated for diagnosing isolation issues stemming from gasket failures, washer cracking, improper sleeve installation, defective lubrication, and conductive media bridging. Visual inspection guidance is provided for identifying root causes.
 
The experimental results show how remote monitoring provides real-time data on isolation effectiveness, polarized potentials, AC/DC interference, and bond currents. This allows proactive mitigation before costly corrosion damage occurs. Regulatory compliance reporting is simplified through automated data logging.
 
The work concludes that remote asset monitoring reduces inspection time, prevents production outages, extends asset life, and provides return on investment versus periodic manual surveys. Continuous asset visibility allows timely troubleshooting to maintain critical cathodic protection and mitigate stray current interference.
