SPIE and Morressier Announce Partnership to Advance Early-Stage Research in Optics and Photonics

SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, and Morressier, the technology company dedicated to bringing conference content into the digital age, today announced an exciting new partnership to advance early-stage research.

SPIE is the world's largest society sponsor of optics and photonics conferences and holds 25 major international conferences, congresses, and technical forums each year. Poster presentations from academia, government research institutes, and industry are a vital part of these events, with more than 5,500 posters presented annually. Currently, engagement with this early-stage research is analog and ephemeral, with exposure limited to poster sessions for in-person conference attendees.

Through this new partnership, SPIE will leverage Morressier's powerful suite of tools and services to enhance the visibility and impact of conference content with digital submission workflow, poster presentation technology, AI annotation, and data integration capabilities. Posters presented at SPIE meetings will be digitally captured, enriched, and made fully searchable within the SPIE Digital Library.

Additionally, Morressier will disseminate poster and presentation metadata through the Morressier Discovery platform, enhancing the global discoverability of this critical early-stage research for the benefit of researchers and practitioners worldwide. SPIE plans to launch this new integration later this year.

"We are proud to partner with SPIE to enrich their global conference offerings and unlock new research opportunities for the entire SPIE community," said Morressier Managing Director and Co-founder Sami Benchekroun. "We strongly believe that the availability, promotion, and sharing of early-stage research benefits not only authors, societies, and institutions, but also advances scientific progress."

"Our partnership with Morressier will meaningfully enhance the SPIE conference attendee experience and expand access to important research through the SPIE Digital Library platform," said SPIE CEO Kent Rochford, PhD. "We are excited to be working together to advance light-based research and create new value for the global research community."
