Introduction: In the early years of life, children are more vulnerable due to the immaturity of the immune, physiological and motor systems. Insertion into the school environment requires interdisciplinare educators knowledge..Objective: Identify the prevalent health intercurrences in daycare center and analyze the behaviors related to these health needs. Method: This is a descriptive study with a quantitative approach performed in a daycare center in São Paulo. In this study 250 children were enrolled. Data were collected during the first semester of 2017.Results: It was possible to observe that 541 health intercurrences occurred. The highest number was fever with 22.5% and head trauma with 19.4% the main behaviors adopted in the nursery were identified in the face of the intercurrences found. Conclusion: It is believed that the nursing professional can contribute through the construction of assistance plans and up dating the knowledge for the preservation and promotion of children's health in the school.
