Ever since the hydrogenation technique was introduced to the scientific community for the purposes of materials treatment, black TiO<sub>2</sub> nanoparticles have generated international interests because of their propensity for strong, broad-range electromagnetic interactions. The engineered disordering of the material surface however is largely confined to particles of the angstrom-scale, with larger nanoparticles being less susceptible to darkening when exposed to traditional hydrogenation conditions. In this presentation, we demonstrate a synergistic approach of metal/hydrogen treatment of nanoscale anatase TiO<sub>2</sub> nanoparticles, so to induce the desired engineered disordering of the crystalline domain within larger, cheaper nanoparticles on the scale of 25-100 nm. These nanomaterials are shown to retain their highly desired electromagnetic properties, of which includes strong microwave interaction for the purposes of stealth technology. Furthermore, this interaction is demonstrated to be fine-tuned via controlling the treatment temperatures, which allows for computational methodologies such as machine learning to elucidate the parameters necessary for targeting specific frequencies of interest.
