Optimal aesthetic dental treatment results require a suitable smile design that provides a perception which fulfils the patient’s aesthetic expectations. Using as a starting point of the implant treatment planning the digital design of the future prosthetic constructions is one of the solutions. This requires transfer of the 2D design to 3D which has enabled a search for new methodologies on how to increase the predictability of the clinical procedures and relate the initial project to the final outcome. This is enabling clinicians plan , predictably future soft tissue contouring and to relate the initial project to the final outcome.
