Abstract

Background and Aims Technologies such as mobile apps present potential for change in the patient's safety landscape, especially in pediatrics. However, there is a lack of knowledge about the methodological process to be followed for the construction. Thus, the aim is to propose a methodology for the development of mobile apps in the health area. Method The methodological study carried out between 2016 and 2017, which proposes seven steps to be followed for building an App. Results The first stage consists of "object definition and verification of the viability of the app", encouraging the verification of feasibility and the accomplishment of two reviews of literature. Second stage "elaboration of the theoretical framework of the object of the study" aims to provide theoretical support for the construction of the application. In the third stage, the "definition of the methodological framework for the construction of the application" seeks to assist in the organization of the construction phases, in the fourth stage "elaboration of the application content" there is a focus on the application content. In the fifth step "prototype construction" there is the first design of the prototype of the screens. Sequentially, in the sixth step, "finalizing the application construction process" through meetings with the development team, the construction planning process is finalized and the tools and technologies used for development are discussed. Finally, in the seventh stage, there is the “App registration". Conclusion Proposed methodology is expected to provide a methodological rigor, increasing the power of replication to future research aimed at the construction of these technologies.
