Background and Aims: 
Outpatient surgery is growing. Type of surgery suitable in  outpatient setting are broadening as well as anesthesia techniques. However, the use of regional  anesthesia as a first choice technique is still questionable. Concerns about post discharge complications in patients highlight the importance of a  careful selection of these techniques. 
With this 3 years retrospective observational study we pretend to evaluate the incidence of regional anesthesia complications post outpatient unit discharge as well as effectiveness of pain control and patient satisfaction.
Methods
A total of 839 follow-up questionnaires of patients undergoing regional anesthesia from October 2011 to October 2014, in our outpatient unit were analysed. Demographic data, number and type of complications, pain intensity at 24 hours, unintended hospitalizations and patient satisfaction were evaluated.
Results
134 (15.97%) of the 839 patients (823 spinal and 16 braquial plexus block) submitted to regional anesthesia had a complication . 
The most frequent was Post Dural Puncture Headache (PDPH), with 61 cases identified (7,27%) in all subarachnoid block performed  but only one case of PDPH needed   hospitalization for treatment of persisting symptoms.  
The second most frequent complication was Post Operative Nausea and Vomits (PONV) with a total of 28 reports. 
Residual motor block was not reported. 
Pain intensity, evaluated by numeric scale (NS) was less than 4 in 659 patients (78.5%) and 696 (82.96%) patients presented satisfaction levels between Good and Very Good. 
Discussion/ Conclusion
These results points to a high percentage of PDPH compared to previous reports (1),(2), (3) and brings new concerns about post discharge complications in this setting.
Alternative options must be evaluated, mainly ecoguided peripherical nerves blocks with low dosage local anesthetics.
