Objective
To examine a relationship between being on an editorial board of a high impact anesthesiology journal and the increased chances of publishing in the same journal. 
Materials and Methods
We chose the top 5 journals in the field of anesthesiology, as rated by Thomas Reuters Corporation generated impact factor. These included the British Journal of Anesthesia, Anesthesia, and the European Journal of Anesthesiology. We analyzed the sources of publications on PubMed, appeared in the last 5 years and authored by five consecutively listed board members, as per the journal website.  
Results
An extremely high (P<.001) non-homogenous distribution of publications authored by the editorial board members.
The second P value further highlights how editorial board members of high impact journals chose to publish their work in their own journals instead of other high or even higher impact journals. 
Conclusion
Editorial board members of high impact journals are significantly more likely to publish their work in their own journals as opposed to other high/higher impact journals.
