This population-based cohort study elucidated whether preeclampsia significantly increases the future risk of coronary heart disease (CHD) in women undergoing Caesarean section (CS) delivery. Our study showed that CS women with preeclampsia had at least twice the risk of developing coronary heart disease when compared to those CS women without preeclampsia during 1 to 6 years of follow-up.
