Background: Diabetes is a chronic disease affecting a large fraction of the world population. Its poor control can lead to multiple complications such sexual dysfunction in both sexes but sexual dysfunction has been poorly studied in women living with diabetes.
Objective: To evaluate the prevalence of sexual dysfunction and to identify associated factors in women living with diabetes in Cotonou. 
Method: It is a cross-sectional study over a period of three months in the main Center of management of diabetes in Cotonou. The FSFI (Female Sexual Function Index) has been used to assess sexual dysfunction and the HADS (The Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale) score has been used to assess anxiety and depression. Statistical analysis was performed using Chi2 test and Student test. Difference was considered significant for p<0.05.
Results: A total of 184 patients were included during the study period. Mean age was 52.99±10.29 years with extremes of 24 and 80 years. Mean duration of diabetes was 6.90±5.83 ranging from 1 month to 27 years. The prevalence of sexual dysfunction was 84.20 % IC 95% [78.2%-89.7%]. The associated factors with sexual dysfunction  were older age (p =0.003), low level of education (p=0.03),  low monthly income (p= 0.04), menopause (p=0.0001), high number of pregnancies (p=0.01), high number of children (p=0.01), long duration of diabetes(p=0.007), hypertension (p = 0.0001), diabetic neuropathy (p=0.03), depression (p= 0.005) and anxiety (p=0.016)
Conclusion: This study has shown the high prevalence of sexual dysfunction in women living with diabetes. According to literature data, the sexual dysfunction has negative impact on physical, mental and social health of women. Women living with diabetes should be systematically  screened for sexual dysfunction
