One in four patients admitted to the Emergency Department is aged 60 years or older and information on outcome of this specific group is lacking. This determined outcome 6 months after in injury in 670 of whom 218 were aged >60 years. Overall good recovery was seen in 55% of patients. Regression analysis showed that only ISS, complaints and depression were associated with outcome (R2 42%). When frailty was added to the model,  only complaints and frailty emerged as significant predictors of outcome (R2 46%). The outcome in elderly is favorable but more research is needed to determine specific predictors of outcome in this category of patients with mTBI.
