Introduction
Civilization has witnessed the growth of human rights from concept to claim. But even in this era, from the lot, SRHR are the most unrealized ones. The magnitude of negligence is found more widespread when SRHR narrows down to FP & contraceptives’ usage.
Pakistan’s youth & marginalized ones specifically are ill-informed regarding health benefits of FP, due to the prevalence of certain facts i.e., lack of awareness about availability of products and free services, exaggerated side effects, misconceptions etc. As per research study conducted in Lahore,72% adolescents & 48% parents mentioned that to cope such constraints adolescents mostly consult their friends. Despite the fact, services are available in targeted area (LAHORE,PAKISTAN), outreach is limited resulting in sufferings of youth with various issues like STIs/STDs, unwanted pregnancies, abortion complications etc.
Methodology
Noticing this MASHAL decided to BRIDGE THE GAP by engagement of youth & community. To do so MASHAL is intended towards bridging this gap by an innovative, sustainable, user-friendly intervention (Mobile Application), followed by consultative meeting, awareness sessions, free camps, the Mobile Application developed will facilitate marginalized people and youth to trace free and affordable SRH services around them and will be a source of authentic information regarding SRHR focusing FP. The project advocacy targeted the young men and women and provided them a authentic platform for services and knowledge of FP.

Advocacy Impact

Fortunately we were able to do much more than proposed:
We are the first ever Mobile Application with authentic literature on contraceptives and Maps’ pinned locations. In addition to what was proposed initially, we also connected and added Free Psychologists’ service numbers and linked on our mobile application.
Population Welfare Department Punjab appreciated the idea and called us to promote it in their events and It is very important to influence Government departments because here the advocacy take turn to change in policy level.
Director General PWD offered his services to present a detailed presentation on FP and Government and private linkages for population control.
Rahnuma - Family Planning Association of Pakistan, appreciated the efforts and also showed keen interest as they specifically mentioned how they liked the idea of the application being Bi Lingual while we discussed our future agendas that we Team MASHAL have in our mind not to stop but to add certain features. FPAP gave team MASHAL the content and IEC material for display and also connected several alliances working on FP with our project.
United National Family Planning Association offered technical supports for future interventions and also proposed further ideas and how we can also collaborate. They appreciated the idea how technology can be this useful for the youth of Pakistan.
The patients in the camp kept on visiting the Doctors even after the camp was finished. The Doctors supported us in keeping on check with patients who visited even after the said timings. The doctors also helped to send their staff to inform in various house hold before the camp started. Few of their friends who work on HIV and AIDS offered us if we can take them on board for any AIDS activity they have free kits to check AIDS. We reached youth based in Lahore including men and women who felt that it was absolutely a dire need.
On 21st of December,2018 launch of Pakistan's First Mobile Application on Family Planning took place, with the intention to link SRH service providers with the eligible youth by providing authentic literature, geo tags of Family Health Clinics of Lahore city and toll free helpline access of the Psychiatrists responsible for resolving SRH concerns.
