Historically, pain has been measured using subjective ratings, to determine presence and severity. Self-report is a problematic metric for
both diagnostic and research purposes. Over the past few years, significant advances have begun to be made in the development of
measures as valid biomarkers, such as heart rate, heart rate variability, and galvanic skin response for the presence of acute and/or chronic
pain. In this paper, we present the results of a pilot study and the current reseaches to demostrate the feasibility of using a novel mobile
health platform along with personalized multi-parameter analytics for objective assessment of pain.
