<br/>Two-dimensional (2D) materials with their unique structure and excellent chemical, physical, and transport properties emerged as prime candidates for energy and electrical sensing applications. The present talk will illustrate how designing materials with programmed architecture can result in tailored properties and how the modulated properties can be beneficial for sensing and energy applications. Specific examples of innovative pathways to engineer the mobility and conductivity of 2D materials-based devices and their impact on sensor performance will be discussed. Further, novel strategies to create inter-dimensional hybrids, encapsulated nanoparticles, and quantum structures, as well as their application as electrocatalysts for electrochemical energy harvesting, will be elucidated.<br/>
