The Field Box was a creative name for a tool much needed for high school Summer science program through the lens of Ethnobotny. This program provided a dual credit summer program for Rural -urban Alaska Native youth.  Introducing science to students who had only seen science out of a text book was my way to get students out of town and out in to the world of discovery.  The Field Box allowed us to carry out this opportunity for youth and support local citizen scientists, like myself.  The Field box came together through a One Health ten thousand dollar grant this was all possible through Larry’s support and our collaborative vision to bring excitement to science for our youth.  Before the Field Box, Larry dedicated his time at the Effie Kokrine Charter School to teach Chemistry in Society, chem 100.  This class has helped many students over years discover the impacts chemistry has in our lives.  <br/><br/>My work in K12 education has been to motivate students to grow their education through the lens of applied sciences,  Agriculture, Natural Resources , both to Include Ethnobotany and of Chemistry is bond that ties.  My tenure at Effie Kokrine Charter School produced students who started seeing the world around them little differently.  As teacher we can only broadcast the seeds, and hope we have those who keep coming back to the feeder.   Larry Duffy helps us all navigate a path  to grow  resilient  learners.<br/>
