Since 2015, I have regularly taught a 1 semester inorganic course designed for chemistry majors with the biochemistry concentration. These students are different from the traditional chemistry major and, for most of them, this is the only inorganic course they take in their undergraduate curriculum. I developed a unique hybrid course that extracts relevant inorganic foundational topics and builds to more complicated bioinorganic applications over time. In this presentation, I will outline the course structure, variations employed, and lessons learned from the past 5 years of this course. Instructors interested in adapting their current inorganic course or incorporating more bioinorganic topics will find this useful.
