Non-reciprocal interactions are commonplace in living systems but design rules for generating such interactions in artificial chemotactic materials has been challenging. We present a framework for rationalizing and predicting micelle-mediated interactions between droplets of different chemistries and explore the ramifications for chemically programmable active fluids. Micelle mediated transport of oil between droplets is well known to occur within emulsions, and we explore how such “communication” can be harnessed to control chemotactic interactions between droplets that includes both repulsive and attractive interactions.<br/>
